The Detroit Auto Show 2018 will not start until the middle of January 2018. But, Chevrolet is looking to uncover the secrets of its latest truck a bit early by offering an early peek at the Silverado 2019. This newly advanced pickup was announced on this weekend at the Texas Motor Speedway. But, its related technical details will not be disclosed until next month. The company used the opportunity to present some of the major differences of Silverado against the Ford F-150. The F-150 has been considered the best selling truck in the United States and it is basically in Chevy’s crosshairs with this Silverado overhaul. Several years ago, Ford announced the aluminum-bodied F-150 and it was expected that the other truck industry competitors would follow it because it offers better fuel economy with light-weight vehicles.
It is interesting the Chevrolet has doubled down on doing the adverse and has gone with a Higher-grade Steel Alloy for the new chassis of Silverado. The car-manufacturer also indicated that this alloy is being used in the roll-formed, lighter weight, and high-strength-steel bed floor contributing to a more efficient and light-weight bed. People have to wait and see how the Silverado compete for the F-150 in major areas such as towing capacity and efficient fuel economy. But, the prevention of expensive aluminum might allow Chevrolet the upper hand regarding pricing. The showing images indicate the new LT Trailboss trim 2019 Silverado. It includes the off-road performance package from the Z71 trim along with a 2-inch suspension lift.
