Were the Uniformed Police Officers Allowed on the Floor of DNC?

A rumor circulated on 28^th July 2016 and reported that uniformed police officers were not permitted on the floor in the Democratic National Convention. This rumor was specifically based on a comment of former mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani in a show “Fox & Friends”. The rumor indicated that “DNC was the most anti-police and anti-law enforcement convention in the history. We didn’t find any uniformed police officer due to they were not allowed on the floor of convention. The senior police officers of Philadelphia also confirmed and I visited two nights, but couldn’t find any uniformed police officer. Hillary Clinton didn’t need any uniformed police officer on the DNC floor”.

Giuliani also claimed that four senior police officers confirmed that uniformed police officers were not allowed on the floor inside the DNC and this statement was considered the only comment made by him. Most of the other news outlets and social media websites picked this story quickly and the comment of Giuliani rapidly circulated online. But, we were unable to find any other evidence in order to confirm this claim. We made a contact with the Police Department of Philadelphia to verify the claim that uniformed police officers were not allowed on the floor of DNC. The Police Department confirmed that both uniformed & plainclothes police officers were deployed throughout the convention of DNC.
