Restrictions increased for Internet News Outlets in China

The government of China has been managing much tighter control of its internet in the last year. A new set of latest restrictions have been announced by the CAC (Cyberspace Administration of China) by adding more limitations regarding the created news and distribution at online platforms. Some of the main restrictions were that every editorial staff should be approved by the internet office of national or local government. These new rules are available on the official website of CAC and it will put into affect on 1^st June 2017. Any blog, website, search engine, forum, inter messaging app and similar news distribution platforms should have a party approved staff. Each worker should be trained in order to get credentials from the federal government.

All Internet service providers should follow these new media rules. In addition, a new rule requires partnerships from domestic businesses with foreign business companies. Gathering funding from outside should get clearance from the Internet Information Office of the State. These new rules have been considered more advanced and perfect rules by the President of China Xi Jinping. It was a clear effort in expanding the party’s control of internet moving around the country. Some of his administration’s restrictive efforts were discovered last year such as tight cyber-security laws announced in the month of November last year. It is important that Chinese Wikipedia has been announced recently and it will be released in 2018.
