A monument took place after 17 years of 9/11 attacks to commemorate the victims of the 4th hijacked plane. The United Airlines Flight 93 was crashed into a field in rural Pennsylvania after the passengers and crew aboard fought back against a group of terrorists. The Associated Press reported that 93-foot-tall tower of wind chimes, named “The Tower of Voices” was announced on Sunday as the final feature of Flight 93’s 2,200-acre Memorial. The steel monument was constructed to remember the 40 heroes that perished after their New Jersey to California plane was hijacked on the morning on September 11, 2001. The National Park Foundation financed the project and said that the major purpose of the monument is to create a set of 40 tones.

The monument is 93-feet-tall to coincide with Flight 93. The Tower of Voices also features a number of wind-chimes, one representing each person aboard the flight, each radiating its own unique sound. The USA Today also reported that the Superintendent of the park, Stephen Clark said that their voices will ring together out into perpetuity, with this beautiful Somerset County, Pennsylvania wind. 4-hijackers took the cockpit almost an hour into the flight with the intent of striking the White House on September 11, 2001. The airplane was cruising above Pennsylvania, the passengers and crew heroically attempted to reclaim the plane and obstruct the mission of terrorists. The hostages stormed the cockpit when they were formulating a plan and navigating the aircraft. A tussle then broke out which resulted in the plane crashing into a field below.
