White House rejected claims Trump is undermining Dr. Anthony Fauci

On Monday, the White House rejected sending campaign-style opposition research to reporters to discredit Anthony Fauci. The US federal government’s top infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci has at times contradicted President Trump on coronavirus. The White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said there is no opposition research being dumped to reporters. She added that emails were sent from White House press aides to a news outlet in response to a straightforward question. President Trump’s aides provided straightforward information in response pointing out when Dr. Fauci has been incorrect regarding the coronavirus. Dr. Fauci contended Trump and the infectious disease experts get along swimmingly. McEnany said, “Dr. Fauci and the president always had a good working relationship”.

McEnany added, “The notion that there’s Dr. Fauci VS President couldn’t be further from the truth. I disagree with him about the virus”. Moreover, President Trump contends the US is beating the virus. Dr. Fauci said the pandemic is a great danger to Americans. On Monday, Trump attacked his presumptive Democratic opponent in the 2020 presidential elections. He retweeted a highly-edited video of Biden posted by Dan Scavino. President wrote in a caption and said, “Is this what you want for your President? With no ratings, media will go down along with our great USA”! The recent attack came as Trump has sharpened his frequent criticism of Biden in recent weeks. Biden’s campaign fired back at what they called desperate and false attacks from Trump in a memo sent to its surrogates.

Biden’s campaign said in a statement, “Despite the breathless coverage each new Trump attack gets, this endless rotation of the same debunked smears isn’t the product of strategic genius, it’s a sign of myopia and desperation as each successive attempt backfires, re-elevating a massive Trump liability while leaving his campaign scrambling to find something new”. The recent polling shows Biden is pulling above the Republican incumbent with a noticeable improvement in support throughout the coronavirus epidemic in battleground states in 3 states including Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan. The president has often celebrated his ratings while in office, boasting inaccurately about everything from the size of his crowds to the viewership of his rallies on television networks.
