On Monday night, anger over the police shooting of a Pride Alliance leader at Georgia Tech turned into violent. The demonstrators who had attended an observance on the campus set a police car flame. A Tech spokesman said that 2 police officers received minor injuries and one of them was shifted to Grady Memorial Hospital. 3 people were arrested and charged with agitating a disturbance and assault on police officers. All 3 people were identified by authorities as Vincent Jacob Wilson, Castillenti, and Cassandra Monden. It wasn’t yet immediately clear if they were students at Tech. The parents of Scout Schultz had appeared earlier in the day with their attorney to question the deadly shooting and called for calm. They said in a statement that we ask that those who wish to protest Scout’s death do so peacefully without creating any disturbance.

They stressed that violence with violence is not the answer. Our target is to work peacefully and efficiently to make positive change at Georgia Tech in an effort to ensure a safer campus for all students. This is how we will sincerely honor Scout’s life and legacy.  The evening started with a peaceful observance to remember a 21-years old student from Lilburn, Scout Schultz. He was gunned down by campus police on late Saturday night. The investigation has been initiated by GBI. But, suddenly the incident happened when at least 50 students left the observance and started to march toward the Tech police headquarters at Hemphill Avenue and First Drive. A former Tech student Chad Miller also participated in the march and said that tear gas was also deployed. He was right behind the police car when it blew up into flames.
