Larry Nassar sentenced for up to 175-Years in Prison and Resignation of MSU President

The USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University doctor, Larry Nassar has admitted abusing women and girls who came to receive treatment from him. On Wednesday, Nassar was sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison. The Judge Rosemarie Aquilina said in the courtroom that “I just signed your death warrant”. The Michigan State University said on Wednesday night that the President of the University, Lou Anna Simon is stepping down due to under pressure from the scandal. The sentencing of Nassar took place after days of emotional and strong testimony from at least 150 girls and women. They had evidently confirmed that they were abused by the doctor (Larry Nassar).

Larry Nassar 175 years in Prison

Point to be noted that Nassar has admitted abusing a number of women and girls who were under his treatment. Nassar already sentenced to 60-years in prison due to separate federal charges regarding child pornography. On 1st December 2017, the CEO of USA Gymnastics, Kerry Perry took charge of the organization. Perry announced a statement that called the crimes of Nassar as beastly and shameful. He also promised to create a culture to attract and support the U.S athletes. He added that he is extremely depressed that a single girl, a single woman, and a single athlete were hurt. The USA Gymnastics appreciated the decision of Judge Rosemarie Aquilina for sentencing Nassar up to 175-years in prison. Her efforts were admired in bringing justice to those he molested and punishing him for his beastly and horrifying behavior.
