Letitia James is one of the 3 Democrats to secure the nomination from the party as next attorney general of New York State. Her estimated victory is about 40.5% of the votes and it will put her to become the first black woman elected to office in order to represent the state. She suddenly moved her attention to the person as she considered her actual opponent, Donald Trump.

She said that this campaign was never about her or any of the candidates who ran. She informed her supporters at a victory party in Brooklyn. She added that it was just about the people, but it was actually about the man in the White House. She added that Trump can’t go a day without threatening fundamental rights of the people and he can’t go a day without threatening the rights of immigrants, and he can’t go a day without separating us.

It is important that the role of New York attorney general has a long history as the office used to regulate Wall Street and prosecute rich and powerful persons. Letitia James beats her Republican opponent in the general election scheduled in the month of November. She will present various filed pending lawsuits from the state that challenge the policies of Trump and blamed his foundation for breaking the law.

She added that we are fighting to save democracy and we are in the middle of the fight. Voters are expected to heavily favor James. She might become the first woman elected as attorney general. The U.S President Trump appointed the current attorney general, Democrat Barbara Underwood, after the resignation of Eric Schneiderman in May following allegations that he physically misbehaved women he dated.
