In the month of June 2015, a requisition has been circulated with a proposal to demolish the carving Models from Stone Mountain from top to bottom. An image was also embedded with a title of Like and Share. This news was widely shared on the Internet. The National Association for Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) issued a statement, in which NAACP proposed the authorities to remove these Confederate symbols that is a part of the Southern history. These models should be demolished permanently. Most of the rumors are expecting that these carvings will be removed in the third quarter of 2015. Most of the news articles, blogs and social media posts shared this news in which NAACP declared their statement to remove carvings of Confederate symbols from Stone Mountain.
A number of posts had a link in their posts about news of 13th July 2015 by Atlanta television station WSB-TV mentioning that President of NAACP Richard Rose needs elimination of Confederate symbols from Stone Mountain. Rose further added that NAACP wants all Confederate symbols should be demolished from all state owned buildings and wherever they are. A website Atlanta Journal Constitution updated an article that Confederate symbols will be blasted from Stone Mountain. We also found that it is true the President of NAACP Atlanta Richard Rose declared the statement for removal of Confederate symbols from Stone Mountain. But that news is considered false which updated that NAACP is taking serious steps against those who need to destroy the Confederate symbols from Stone Mountain.
