On Monday, the U.S President Donald Trump added more words to his critics. He criticized officer who reportedly stayed outside the school in Parkland, Florida during the shooting incident. Trump claimed that he should “run in there” and stop the shooter. Trump said, “You know I really believe, you don’t know until you’re tested, but I really believe I’d run in there, even if I didn’t have a weapon, and I think most of the people in this room would’ve done that too”. Trump also called the alleged behavior of the officer as disgusting. Trump made the comments during speaking with Governors from across the nation on gun control. He added that “I go to bed every night believing there’s nothing he could say or do that could possibly surprise me, then the sun comes up”.
The host Stephen Colbert of “The Late Show” said that there’s a lot there I doubt, but the part I really don’t believe is that he can run. We already know how you (Trump) react to combat situations”. Meyers said that “There is nothing to be believable, forget running into a school to confront a shooter. I don’t believe you’d run anywhere. You can’t even be bothered to walk down a flight of stairs. There was really nothing worse than a fake tough guy. Trump lives in a fantasy world where he’s some sort of action-movie star who’d rush into danger and save the day”. The host of “The Daily Show”, Trevor Noah also pointed out the bright side of comments from Trump. Noah said, “If Donald Trump ran into a school during a shooting, I do believe he would stop the shooting”.
