US President Donald Trump has warned the governor of Pennsylvania in a thinly-veiled threat on the eve of the election. He said that he and his supporters are watching him. President was campaigning in Joe Biden’s hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania. He told the Democrat governor Tom Wolf that he was paying close attention. Trump said, “You look at what’s going on in Philadelphia. We’re watching you, governor. Make sure your governor doesn’t cheat because they are known for very bad things here. But we have a lot of eyes watching, a lot of very powerful eyes here. They don’t want that to happen”. Both presidential candidates have been campaigning hard in the state. Trump held 4 rallies there on Saturday, while Biden dispatched his star player, Barack Obama to kick off his in-person campaigning.

Point to be noted that President Trump won the state 4 years ago, but Biden is ahead by 5 points among likely voters, 51% to 46%, although that advantage is within that poll’s margin of error. A combined 3% say they’re undecided or are voting for someone else. Trump told his supporters in Montoursville and said, “At every turn, Biden twisted the knife into the back of Pennsylvania workers. They keep saying it’s close in Pennsylvania but I don’t think it is close”. His Democratic rival and Kamala Harris (Biden’s running mate) will spend the day fanning across the state in a final pitch to voters. It is noteworthy that a federal court judge in Texas has rejected a Republican-led effort to invalidate thousands of ballots cast in one of the largest counties in the US.

The US District Judge Andrew Hanen ruled that GOP plaintiffs looking to toss out nearly 127,000 ballots cast at drive-through sites in Harris County do not have the standing to do so. He said that he’s not buying the plaintiffs’ argument that the ballots are not secure. He dismissed arguments that casting ballots at drive-through sites approved by a bipartisan state legislature and secretary of states is illegal. On Monday, the Judge said, “I also would not enter an injunction because I don’t find it timely. This has been happening at least since September. These are registered voters who gave their ID”. Pending an appeal to the federal 5th Circuit Court, Judge Hanen ordered election officials to maintain records of votes cast at drive-through sites through Election Day.
