President Trump is reportedly selling his Private Helicopter Sikorsky S-76B
US President Donald Trump is reportedly selling off his personal helicopter worth at least $1m. The one-term president has listed for sale the Sikorsky S-76B that he used extensively during his 2016 run to the White House. The helicopter also features prominently on The Apprentice before a recent paint job the helicopter and used to carry Trump’s name on its tail. The helicopter is painted in Trump’s familiar corporate colors of black and red stripes. It is currently in storage in New Jersey and was first listed back in July 2020. The helicopter still carries its US civil registration code of N76DT but hasn’t been flown in by Trump since he entered the White House in 2017.
Trump gets to fly on Air Force One as president and the presidential helicopter, Marine One. The New York Times reported that the official listing on Aero Asset and Jet Edge Partners doesn’t give a price for the helicopter but it was valued at $875,000 back in 2016. The price could reach as much as $1.5m with the helicopter’s links to President Trump. Donald Trump reportedly owns 3 Sikorsky S-76B helicopters along with several other private jets. The VIP set-up comes with leather seats for 6 passengers, floor to ceiling mahogany finishes, a fridge, drinks cabinet, and a soundproofed cabin. The helicopter is the same make and model as the one involved in the fatal crash that killed basketball legend Kobe Bryant in January 2019.
President Trump will also see an end to his permission to land helicopters at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida after leaving the White House in January. The authorities said that the perk was only approved for his time in the White House and will end on 20th January 2021. Trump may be considering a 2nd presidential run in 2024. The president has reportedly been having discussions with his advisers about running for the nation’s highest office again in 2024. Axios actually reported the story and cites 2 anonymous sources familiar with the conversations. It is noteworthy that the US law limits presidents to 2 terms as president, but those terms don’t need to be consecutive. US President Grover Cleveland served two non-consecutive terms as president.
