US President Donald Trump’s top infectious diseases director Dr. Fauci has alleged Trump campaign ad for harassment over featuring him without permission and warned another would be outrageous. Dr. Fauci delivered his words in separate interviews on Monday. He argued that the campaign of the US President was in effect, harassing me and should take down the commercial. He informed a news outlet that another advert would be outrageous and terrible. Dr. Fauci also warned that their harassment might have the opposite effect of turning some voters off. Point to be noted that he served as the top adviser for the White House coronavirus task force. He alleged that the Trump campaign acted without his permission and his words had been taken out of context in the 30-second campaign ad.

It is noteworthy that the alleged campaign ad touted Trump’s personal experience with Covid-19 and appeared to show Dr. Fauci’s praise. He said, “I can’t imagine that anybody could be doing more”. He claimed that his words had been in response to the broader response of the Trump administration, but wasn’t about the President. Dr. Fauci said, “I was totally surprised. The use of my name and my words by the GOP campaign was done without my permission, and the actual words themselves were taken out of context, based on something that I said months ago regarding the entire effort of the task force”. On Monday, he informed Jake Tapper of CNN that he has never publicly endorsed a presidential candidate.

Dr. Fauci said, “It’s so clear that I’m not a political person. I have never either directly or indirectly endorse a political candidate. To take a completely out of context statement and put it in which is obviously a political campaign ad, I thought was really very disappointing”. The head of the White House coronavirus task force, Dr. Deborah Birx informed a news outlet in an interview that public health is not a political issue. She commented on the president’s attempt to include Dr. Fauci in his campaign material. In response, the Trump campaign has stressed that the comments are Dr. Fauci’s own words. Trump campaign spokeswoman Erin Perrine said, “The words spoken are accurate and directly from Dr. Fauci’s mouth”.
