Public channels enable team members to efficiently communicate without using email or group SMS. These channels (Chat rooms) are open in the workspace and accessible to everyone.
Private channels allow secure private communication between small groups. These private chat rooms are used to manage large groups or teams.
Direct messages enable users to send and receive private messages to specific users instead of a group of users. Moreover, you can convert a direct message group into a private channel. This option can add up to 9 people.
