Sony has announced the new VRR (variable refresh rate) is coming to the PlayStation5 in a couple of months. The company explained it will powerfully sync the refresh rate of the display to the console graphical output of PS5. But it would need an HDMI 2.1-compatible TV or PC monitor.
However, the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles have already featured VRR, but Sony has just announced the feature. It is important that VRR supports minimizing visual objects like screen tearing and future games will obviously include this feature.
Sony also explained the gameplay in various PS5 titles feels softer as scenes drive immediately with sharp graphics. Users can fully optimize their earlier released PS5 games for VRR with a game patch.
Sony will release PS5 and PS4 System Software Updates
Users can also apply VRR to unsupported PS5 games and it will efficiently enhance video quality for many games. However, the results often depend on the TV and the game you’re playing. The company recently offered VRR on its HDMI 2.1-equipped TVs in Europe and the United States.
PlayStation5 provides 4K at 120Hz, but the Xbox Series X/S consoles are more efficient. Sony didn’t mention a specific date for the VRR patch. The latest PS5 release will also include some other new features.
New Voice Command & PS Remote Play features
The new update is expected to feature the ability to test drive a Voice Command feature. It would enable you to control media playback, find open games, apps, and settings. The PS App allows users to join open or closed parties and PS Remote Play will also enable a dark mode.

The latest update will also add accessibility features such as mono audio for headphones. The US and UK registered account holders of PS5 players can get a test drive for a Voice Command feature. It would enable them to find and open games, apps, and settings. They can also control media playback with their voice, but only with English language settings.
Users can apply new features to game tools on their PS5 console. They can pin videos and apps to their screen while playing, or share their screen with friends. It will also allow users to check out the new ‘Pro Tips’ cards in the Control Center.
