There are a number of scammers that are looking to find ways to induce online users into attractive given web links. These links redirects those victims into a preplanned trap arranged for them. Offering free airline tickets has become a major scam. Nowadays, most of us are using airline tickets of different values. But, some scammers mentioned unnaturally that air line tickets are not expensive and compared it to the price of a new car. It looks like a joke to public, as they are doing business and providing travelling facility for free. Some scammers involved Southwest Airlines; it has been considered a major airline in the United States. This airline is the world’s largest low-cost carrier and scammers involved it in the current year as offering “free ticket”.

The social media users noticed in the month of February 2016 that some posts were published from Southwest Airlines and offered four tickets at 5 thousand U.S dollars for travelling to Las Vegas for those Facebook users who shared & liked a specific page. The primary kind of free ticket fraud was considered the “Sweepstakes scam”. This kind of fraud involved victims into completing various surveys, disclose their personal information and a costly sign up. Most of the scammers spread links using e-mail and Facebook in order to offer free airline tickets. Point to be noted that none of such pages were operated or sponsored by Southwest Airlines. The spokesperson of Southwest Airline Christi McNeill said that these kinds of attempts should be considered a fraud and we know that there are scams online for free tickets, but this offer is not affiliated with Southwest Airlines.
