A large number of customer were surprised that they didn’t find any kind of holiday symbol rather than the standard green & whiter Starbucks logo on the solid red design coffee cup. On 22nd October 2015 a press release issued by Starbucks, with explanations regarding the facts behind the choice of a new design.
The Starbucks said that their new design of coffee cup has an iconic red design with bright color. The vice president of Design & Content of Starbucks Jeffrey Fields said that ‘we have fixed that design with our classic Starbucks holiday red color and it is attractive and interesting. He added that Starbucks is serving holiday beverages since 1997 with a different and unique cup and now we have designed in jewel tones of deeper reds, blues and green. Our cup tells the story of the holidays and its feature of symbols of seasons are more attractive. Starbucks also said that its holiday cup 2015 will be more attractive with solid red color but most of the people are considering its red color as a sign of Christian cleansing. Originally, the Starbucks Cup for 2015 Holiday don’t have specific symbol of Christmas and their coffee chain is still serving coffee by giving gift cards with holiday symbols.
