Trump Administration confirmed 26 Deaths from Covid-19 in the United States

The United States has been experiencing more deaths as 4 more died from the coronavirus and brought the total to 26. 3 more were deaths were declared in Washington State, which has borne the brunt of the deadly virus, with another in California. It is noteworthy that the latest fatalities in Washington State were all female residents of the Life Care Centre in Kirkland. All 3 victims were women, 2 of them were in their 80s and one in her 70s. All but one of the 20 deaths in the state has been connected to the Life Care Centre. A woman in her 60s in California had been in the hospital for several weeks succumbed to the virus in Santa Clara County. She had not traveled abroad recently and had no known contact with anyone affected by the virus.

The County Health Officer, Sara Cody said, “This is a tragic development. The Public Health Department is taking necessary, carefully considered steps to slow down the spread of the disease and to protect those at greatest risk. We are facing a historic public health challenge and know this is a very difficult time. Our top priority continues to be protecting the health of our community”. The deaths were announced as the Grand Princess Cruise ship was finally allowed to dock in Oakland, California, after several days of being anchored off San Francisco. More than 21 people have tested positive for Covid-19 on the ship. U.S President Donald Trump said he would have preferred to keep at sea in order to stop the number of confirmed cases in the United States from doubling.
