The United States has now lost more than 4,500 Americans to the widespread coronavirus. It has now crossed the number of cases and reported deaths in China. It is noteworthy that U.S recorded 2,010 deaths on Saturday, but it doubled on Wednesday morning with 4,078 deaths and more than 188,000 confirmed cases. China rapidly affected with the virus but efficiently recovering after losing 3,305 people in the country. So, the United States is just behind Italy and Spain for recording more deaths from the disease to date. Point to be noted that the U.S death toll is doubling every 3-days. President Donald Trump also warned on Tuesday that Americans needed to brace for a very, very painful 2-weeks. White House projections indicate that the coronavirus could cause anywhere between 100,000 to 240,000 deaths, even with existing social distancing measures. Trump said, “I want every American to be prepared for the hard days that lie ahead”. More Americans have now died from the Covid-19 virus than those from the 9/11 terror attacks on New York City. Manhattan had recorded more than 900 deaths in the borough alone on Wednesday. The John Hopkins University has provided data that at least 40% of all U.S coronavirus deaths have come from New York State with 1,700 confirmed deaths.

The White House coronavirus response coordinator, Dr. Birx said that the states of New York and New Jersey together had more cumulative cases then the other 48 states combined. The epicenter of the nation’s outbreak, New York had so far seen 76,000 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus. Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton has claimed people are dying midst the widespread coronavirus crisis. It is because of Donald Trump’s failure in public health, leadership, and humanity. She said in her tweet, “Multiple failures-to test every suspected case, to isolate confirmed cases, to contact trace, to adequately prepare & protect our health workers. President @realDonaldTrump didn’t cause #covid19 but people are dying because of his failure in public health, leadership & humanity”.
