Did U.S President Obama Skip Security Briefings?
A number of websites published similar items on 12th December 2016 and reported that Donald Trump has “Forgot to Delete” tweets posted years ago, in which he criticized the U.S President Barak Obama for allegedly not attending the security briefings. Point to be noted that these tweets were live on 12th December 2016, but these tweets were actually published between the months of September 2012 and 2014. Some reports also indicated that elected U.S President Trump attended some briefings. The U.S officials have confirmed that new elected U.S President Trump has attended an average of one presidential intelligence briefing per week. The officials further indicated that newly elected U.S President is not bound to attend PDB (President’s Daily Brief).
It is important that PDB has been considered the most highly classified event on a regular basis. They didn’t confirm that why Donald Trump decided not to attend the intelligence briefings compared to the current U.S President Barak Obama because Obama frequently attended those meetings. Although, the claim was not verified, but most social media websites reported widely. Donald Trump claimed that he received more critical information from outside than regular scheduled briefings. The Washington Post published in the month of September 2012 that the U.S President Barak Obama had skipped various regular security briefings, but they mentioned in their fact check as “false” and confirmed that former U.S President Ronald Reagan had skipped at least 99% regular briefings.
