Our authentic sources informed that sanctions have been imposed on two top intelligence services of Russia by the U.S President Obama and ordered 35 Russian intelligence officials to leave the United States. This step was taken in response to the Russian documented hacks on the U.S election system in 2016. The New York Times reported that it was considered the strongest-ever American response to a country allegedly sponsored cyber attack in the U.S. The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Homeland Security Department in the United States have issued a joint detailed report that how Russia sponsored cyber attacks in the U.S and mechanisms to avoid this kind of incident in the future. The U.S President issued an executive order on Thursday 29th December 2016.

The new executive order will expand the ability of the U.S President to respond to cyber attacks or its sponsors on the U.S election system. The U.S authorities have followed this new executive order and sanctioned the foreign military intelligence service (GRU) of Russia, 4 individual GRU officers, Russian central security agency FSB and 3 companies allegedly provided support for cyber attacks of GRU. Obama said in a statement that “My administration publicized in October about our assessment that Russia is involved to interfere the election process in the United States. So, all Americans should be alarmed from the expected Russian actions. Last year, our diplomats have experienced an acceptable level of threat in Moscow by the Russian security services & police”. The U.S State Department has closed 2 compounds in New York and Maryland used by Russian intelligence authorities.
