Listen to this articleThe DAPL (Dakota Access Pipeline) has been a debate for a couple of months and various news outlets had reported that DAPL protesters have blocked all construction sites for a supposed pipeline. The protesters said that it would potentially cut through land sacred to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. The protests had turned into clashes and caused a number of arrests. The Washington Post also reported that police had arrested at least 140 people after starting conflicts with protesters on 27th October 2016 at the time of clearing a base camp of private property near the Dakota Access Pipeline. The chairwoman of Caddo Nation Tamara Francis-Fourkiller was also arrested in this incident. She is an expert and advising to negotiation construction supervisors on sacred burial grounds and the Sioux of Standing Rock.
News9 of Oklahoma City reported that the family members of the tribal leader said on 29th October 2016 that an unknown donor has delivered 2.5 million U.S dollars to pay bail for the release of Francis-Fourkiller and for all people arrested earlier in the protests. We have found similar and dispersed information from the blog of “White Wolf Pack”. After just 2 days, a nonprofit legal group found involved and issued a statement by denying that any kind of donation wasn’t received for this purpose. A Facebook page “Red Owl Legal Collective” posted thanks on 30th October 2016 to the Legal Defense Fund of the Sacred Stone Camps and jail support team for their efforts and providing assistance in the release of the Red Warrior Camp arrested people.
