A click-bait website “Nevo News” posted a story on 25th August 2016 and reported that Republican candidate for the U.S Presidential Election Donald Trump had promised to refuse the offered salary if he will be elected in the U.S Presidential Election 2016. We have found that the information was correct as he mentioned, but it was at least one year old. The information was related to 17th September 2015 during a town hall-style session. Donald Trump was also asked about the pension benefits & generous healthcare benefits offered to Congress members. He responded that “The first thing I’m going to tell you that if I’m elected as the U.S President, I’ll never accept salary. That’s not a big deal for me, but when these guys go to Congress, a couple of things happen. They get benefits and they don’t like to talk about it”.

Forbes listed Trump at number 405 in their list of billionaires in the world, at the time the statement was made. He was also listed with approximately 4.1 billion U.S dollars. The Forbes also indicated that net worth of Donald Trump was decrease and estimated at 3.7 billion and 800 million U.S dollars. But, if Donald Trump manages to win the U.S Presidential Election on 8th November 2016 and follow his delivered statement for not accepting the offered annual salary of 400 thousand U.S dollars, he would be added in the fleet of former U.S Presidents such as John F. Kennedy. The former U.S President J.F. Kennedy was born into wealth and donated his entire offered salary as the U.S President to charity. It is important that former U.S President Herbert Hoover was also one of the wealthy persons and he also donated his offered Presidential salary for charity purposes.
