Animal meat is considered one of the basic food elements in our life. Most of us are frequently eating the meat of cow, chicken and fish. Only a few consumers are familiar with the procedures implicated in the production of animal food. They don’t know where those animals come from, what kinds of food those animals are eating, living conditions of those animals and their slaughtering process. A number of animal rights campaigners are posting videos and photographs online in order to make awareness for public. The main objective of their campaign is to make attention that some animals used to provide meat for humans are living and dying in terrible conditions.
The published story and photographs are related to housing of calves. The showing pictures in the published post are indicating crates for young calves and they are being imprisoned after an hour of birth. The campaigner condemned that young calves are spending their entire life in those small boxes and they don’t have enough space of room to turn around. They spent six weeks in those boxes before supplying to slaughter houses. When we tried to find out about its correctness, we found that the published photograph is showing calf cabinets that are being used as houses for calves only for dairy purposes not for slaughtering procedures. Point to be noted that young calves are being kept in those cabinets for 16 weeks not for just 6 weeks. Those cabinets also provide a handsome space for young calves and they can spend a considerable amount of time outdoors.
